Just following up with this topic- I am happy with my experience with Foss Foam. They knew the size of the stock (3.48" dia) and supplied it about 1" longer than required. I used a metal cutting blade in a circular saw with the steering quadrant as a guide. I made a drill fixture off the old rudder for the cross hole and a structure to hold the rudder in position. Epoxy barrier and 2 coats anti-fouling. The boat yard kept me in the slings during their lunch break to give time for me and my mates to install. The only issue appears to be the wall thickness is heavier than the old rudder. The emergency tiller needs to be modified to fit.
