Hi all!
Wondering if anyone has replaced a portion of their rub rail. We have a Cal 2-27 which was banged up by a boat that got off her mooring. Our rubrail is coming off in the rear port quarter. After a bit if fibreglass repair and a repaint of the hull, we'll need to fix the rub rain. Any advice?
Thanks!
L

If your boat is from 60s or 70s-

(somehow lost my draft so forgive me if this ends up being a duplicate ...) Did a rail replacement on a friends Cal a few months back. Evan hit a wall and we replaced the whole rail, all the way around. Evan started it on his own but it went much faster with two. The rubber is so stiff, it has a mind of its own. There was some cracking of fiberglass involved, but no material damage. Took us about 6 hours. The exact rubber size and profile is key. Talk to Steve at (510) 521-7730. He used to work for Cal and knows the exact size you need.

While I was searching for pictures for Mary I found this "before" picture of my friends boat after the wall hit him. I am still searching for the "after" picture, but it looked really good. The rail ended up looking way better than before, good as new...
